What Jan has to say:by Jan Wingender|janw@dib-comics.com |
| The first update from Japan. Unfortunately, I can't tell what the situation will be with future updates. But I'll try to do as many as possible. Due to ye olde problem which is inevitable when working with puns the German comic differs from the English one today. Good news, everyone! I'm still technically alive! You're probably wondering why the updates have become so unfrequent and why I haven't written anything in the commentary section for almost three weeks. Well, plain and simple: I've been busy. First there were the Summerbreeze and Rock Area festivals which took up a lot of my time. And as soon as I returned from there I had to do a lot of stuff for my big journey. "What big journey?" you may ask? Well, to Japan of course. I didn't make that up just for the comic. I'll actually be living and studying in Tokyo starting this coming weekend. I definitely intend to continue DIB Comics when I'm there. I promise. But I can't tell in which way my stay on the other side of the planet will influence my work. Don't worry. I won't switch to a manga style (people have jokingly asked me this), mostly for lack of artistic skill. I also can't tell when I'll be able to update DIB 3 times a week again, because once I'm in Japan I'll have to take care of a lot of bureaucratic stuff which will most definitely take up a lot of time. For those of you who want to know what my life in Japan is like, I've decided to start a live journal. It's English only for your convenience: Creating an account was a real pain the ass because LJ didn't want to accept my passwords ("Your password does not contain any numbers or signs", "Your password can not be username related (WTF???)", and so on). And I also have something more for your ears. Enjoy! My friend Benedikt aka Sephy also asked me to put up a link to a collection of musical pieces he composed (or interpreted) in his free time. BEWARE! It's not metal ;) |
